Parental Participation Agreement
As a parent cooperative school, Sandy Hill is founded upon and dependent on the participation of all our members. Parents help support the school in many ways.
Enrollment at Sandy Hill requires parents agree to:
- Help in the classroom from 9:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. (at least twice monthly for the T/Th classes, at least once monthly for the MWF classes) for the purpose of assisting our teachers and children. Classroom participation sigh-up sheet is posted monthly. To ensure the safety of all the children, younger siblings may not attend on the days parents assist in the classroom.
- Participate in the Fall Fundraiser by selling the suggested minimum, or by paying a fee as fairly established by the Fall Fundraiser Committee and Board of Directors, no later than early November.
- Arrange for one parent to help for a 4-hour session at work parties twice a year (traditionally scheduled in October and March) to clean and maintain classrooms and school grounds. Families unable to attend due to extenuating circumstances will pay a $100.00 fee per missed work party assessed to the following month’s tuition bill (either November or April).
- Actively participate on a committee or serve on the Board of Directors (5 to 10 hours on average per month).
- Complete all required forms on time, pay tuition and fees promptly and have a current TB clearance on file for parent(s) or family member(s) who assist in the classroom.
- Attend the parent orientation, open house, parent talks, social events and Spring Fundraiser, as well as accompany children on field trips whenever possible. Siblings may not attend the field trips.
- Purchase two tickets to the Spring Fundraiser and participate by attending. Please submit payment by the RSVP date listed on the invitation sent out by the School Spirit Committee. ($40.00 per ticket or a total of $80.00)
- Agree to sell a minimum of 10 raffle tickets (takes place at the Spring Fundraiser in April or May). Information made between February and April.
- Abide by the parking policy, by not parking in UUFSD or any spaces marked NO SANDY HILL PARKING and by parking in the lower lot on all classroom participation days.
- I understand that Sandy Hill is a true Parent Cooperative School. Under Community Care Licensing rules, all parents are permitted to escort children to the bathroom.
